What the Foot

809 N Hillcrest Rd, Beverly Hills, CA 90210
There are plenty of places in this 14,000 square foot home to sit and enjoy looking through the large windows out at your manicured three acre estate, but this… This is the foot-viewing room.

  1. You know, those chandelier lights look just like those pollen-shooting flowers on the old Star Trek that made Spock giggle. This would be a great place to live!

  2. Well obviously, Marty, this room is the homage to “Lost.” Although the foot statue has, of course, been reduced to a manageable tabletop size, because who has room for a full scale reproduction?

    In other listing news…

“Emotional property”? What, is that like the real estate equivalent of a drama queen? Appropriate, as this is in Beverly Hills and priced at movie star rates.

I love the wonky marble checkerboard floor in that hallway or gallery or whatever the heck it is. Even when covering the chairs in my favorite *emerald* green from view, it still works. Makes the extra color punctuation that much more effective, actually.

But that bas relief opposite the toilet… Um, no. That one has got to go… Oh, uh… pardon the pun there. Now don’t be a party pooper! It was just a wee pun!!

  3. @Anodean: You’d need to keep a heads up lookout whenever you’re in the yard, though. Do you have any idea how heavy a free-falling, guffawing Vulcan weighs? But yeah… it would be nice to see him so at ease and so… happy. *wipes away wistful tear*

  4. @Anodean: ST:TOS reference FTW! Totally agree.

  5. The decorator did have a penchant for odd statues. But the foot reminds me of my dad after he got his medical degree. He mounted and displayed the first cast he ever removed – from the foot of a patient. I’ll never forget that thing sitting in the hallway to his and mom’s bedroom.

At least it’s just a foot, and not like the interior decorations in that one lady’s house in “A Clockwork Orange”… o_O

  8. @Frodo: A *used* cast? (O_o) I’ve heard those smell *really* bad. Perhaps not? Or perhaps he let it air thoroughly first?
