Giving Whoopi the Finger

Sometimes it seems like the listing agent just isn’t really trying to sell the home.

And sometimes it seems like they’re actively trying not to sell it.

  1. Does the agent not know how to turn on some lights? Does he not even have a flash on that camera? I can see some house plants on the edges of the photos. How in the world are they thriving in there? Maybe they’re plastic?

@Frodo: Whoever took the photos doesn’t know how to use a camera, at the least. Not just the finger over the lens, but something not working correctly. The bathroom pic either has something else over the lens (like the carry strap) or the shutter stuck or it’s a film camera and the film wasn’t properly developed. I had that happen years ago with similar odd results.

Knowing Whoopi’s passions (no pun intended), I’m surprised she didn’t jump out of the TV to take on the fingerer.

The house looks viable, at least from what we can see. It seems to be in fairly decent shape, given it was built in 1910. The marble counter tops and the nice vanity in the bathroom suggest it hasn’t been entirely neglected, while the variety of siding and the french doors in the living room show it hasn’t been overly “updated” either. It could probably use a good inspection, along with some maintenance and preventive maintenance, but for a hundred year old house at a decent price I’d say it’s probably a pretty good deal.

I personally love homes from this era, having lived in several (in varying states of repair) while I lived in a college town for 15 years. I sorely miss them now as our current town has a horrible housing stock. Unless there was something major that we can’t see in the pics, I’d be quite willing to shell out the bucks and start decorating it to my own tastes.
