Behold This $2M Kitchen

Behold the two million dollar kitchen.

Two million dollar weeds.

And the two million dollar living room, with the two million dollar floor.

Listing claims that the home sports “ocean views,” but conveniently fails to include any photos of said views.

Oh did I mention this place is in Malibu? That might have something to do with the price. Maybe.

  1. I don’t know what’s worse – that someone has the gall to put that price tag on a house like this or that there are plenty of people loopy enough to pay it. Of course we all know it’s the land that commands the price (I hope!). Even so that “ocean view” is only the “Sorta, if you ignore the one lane road, the green chain link fence, the gazillion condos, and the other residences down slope from you” kind. I suppose someone’s going to be pleased with the site, at least. If you don’t mind your ocean in the distance you might be able to make a nice home for yourself, granted you either strip this one bare or completely start over.

  2. I’m thinking those weeds are what southern Californians call “lush” (I understand that Northern California is the opposite extreme). In North Carolina, we would call it the Outer Banks, because that’s what it looks like.

  3. This place is depressing, if only for the fact that it strongly resembles every ticky-tacky low-budget apartment I ever rented as a young adult- save for the size of it- and it’s listed at $2 Million! Can I just buy an Airstream instead?

  4. Wow, what a dream house! Not! Lol. I see the lender got it back on May 5 for $1,761,148. Put it on the market and sold for $1,249,500 on June 6 to RAC development and they turned around and put it on the market for $1,999,000 less than 30 days later. I wonder what they did to the house to bring up the value that much? I hope it wasn’t renovated because they didn’t make it look like anything special.

  5. @Colleen: Perhaps the landscaping is more mature, now? Some of it might count as “trees” now that they’ve had their summer growth spurt. :D
