From my understanding, California real estate law is very strict on what has to be disclosed to potential buyers… even whether or not a home is thought to be haunted. Oh, and that “sitting smack on top of the San Andreas Fault” thing, too.

Looks like this place has had a bit of its own earthquake wear and tear.

As for West Hollywood, incorporated in 1984 (cue the Twilight Zone theme music), for the years 2000-2009, the median income was only around $50,000 – that’s what they had – *before* taxes – to try to live with California prices. :(

Wikipedia says that, overall, Hollywood proper has an even lower median income. The thing is, some of the major movie companies have offices or studios in or near Hollywood, and some of the movie awards groups and museums have space there, too. But the rich folks who make the movies and star in them don’t live there.
