@Samme: LOL! Ya know, now that I think about it, I almost wonder if there wouldn't be a bigger chance of *me* feeling creeped out by the painted vines than by real vines. If painted ones *did* start reaching out to get me, I'd *know* something was really, really wrong! :O

@Samme:...the rose ceiling hallway. It isn’t creepy at all. Doesn’t make you think that the rose vines are just waiting for an unsuspecting passer-by to get close enough to grab with thorny vines. Where did they say the previous occupants went? All right, yes, it's a trap. But, wow!

@Samme: Um... do you like the rose ceiling or are you being sarcastic? Personally I like it, but I can still appreciate how some might find a bit overwhelming. It's just that it reminds me of all the fun, funky things I saw in the digs of my college buds, and sometimes did in my own. :)

I think it’s safe to say these folks haven’t cashed in their 401K on redecorating costs. Wow, I was totally having flashbacks to my mom’s 1970s Better Homes & Gardens magazines. In a funky, hipster sort of way it’s actually kinda fun. I wouldn’t mind staying there now and then, but I’m not sure I’d want to live in it. Still, kudos for not being bland!

Heads up – we’ll be on the road for a couple weeks starting the middle of this week. I may be able to check in a few times, but maybe not. I’ll be back though when we get home. :D

Anodean – The side-by-side pink stove, the streamlined refrigerators, the wild 70s experiments – it’s another time warp property, and to top shock with awe (or vice versa, it’s a duplex – two kitchens! – that is showing this degree of preservation in both units!
Ditto. I like this place a lot. Some of the color schemes are out there but it looks like someone at some time took a good hard look at each space and filled it with personality. That floral bathroom is a character unto itself.

This place is worth it just for the beautiful vintage appliances – which look virtually like new, and I’ll bet still work just fine, too. The whole place is jaw-droppingly spotless, ding-less, and – most astounding of all for the period – shows no tobacco smoke stain.

It’s as though both your sets of grandparents aged out in the same property… which, given that these folks seem to have been non-smokers with extremely regular habits, may only just recently have been vacated.
