@anodean: "Seed pods" and "man-eating mushrooms"... Hmm... perhaps those mushrooms aren't eating men but are instead producing, or rather reproducing, them? The concept of "pod people" had to come from somewhere, right? And to control the "new recruits" once they arrive? A home grown batch of opium derived the poppy pod chandelier, of course.

Good to see we're of a like mind on the rest of the place. Yes, a lovely young woman under that ton of unnecessary and trampy make-up.

First thoughts, before reading anodean's comments...

The chairs aren't alone - let's not forget their buddies the lighting fixtures and ceiling treatments. The term "dyspeptic decorator" keeps... coming up (sorry, couldn't resist). And I have to think Kim Jong Un would feel right at home, which is saying something... something unpleasant, though vaguely non-specific. If I had to choose just one word to describe the interiors, that word would be "bombastic."

The house itself, if one can disregard the startling accoutrements, is quite nice. I'd relish an opportunity to decorate it myself. I wouldn't totally discount bright colors and/or some of the current features, but all of them together? Well, I'd prefer to come by the "Not Haunted" moniker honestly.

For all its grandeur, this is a remarkably inviting house - of course, I was sold at the first picture of the gardens - but like so many strengths that become problematic, the unfortunate guests who came to party and stayed to be chairs likely regret sampling the giant pears. I'd get rid of them... and the pears, and the table they grew on.

I quite like the seed-pod chandelier pictured over the zebra chairs, and wouldn't mind having one like it - once I made sure there was nothing inside the pods but light bulbs - but the man-eating purple mushrooms in the master suite must go, preferably before they finish digesting their last meal.

All in all a very lovely home, beautifully situated and easily tamed with a little judicious pruning.
