Some “hobby farms” are called such because of small size, but not all. A good example is the horse farm. They’re sometimes the hobby of rich folks, as they’re so expensive to maintain. You need plenty of land to pasture multiple horses, land that might make a lot more money if used for different activities.

While the captions are a bit odd, I do like being able to know what I’m looking at without having to look for clues and guess at it.

Otherwise, nice looking house, decently adapted with workable kitchen and baths, great finished attic space. Not my decorating taste but it works for the genre. Nice grounds, too, but a lot to take care of.

My strongest reaction, though was to this description: a… “hobby farm.” How come there are never any “hobby hotel maids” or “hobby waiters”? What is it with people playing at being farmers? Kinda undervalues real farmers, if you ask me. And they’re already undervalued enough. Sorry, but being the granddaughter of an old farming family and marrying into an old farming family (on both sides) has shaped my PoV. At least this not being a real farm (anymore) explains why the barn is so clean, ’cause that’s just never the case. I can see the appeal of living in this setting and making some money by renting it to weddings, fundraiser type carnivals, etc. Just don’t call it any kind of farming.
