All Swans, All the Time

Apparently “Penthouse living at its finest” means being surrounded by swans.

Swans in the hallway, swans in the bathroom, swans in the bedroom…

It’s all swans, all the time.

Aside from the odd swan obsession, does it strike anyone else as a bit odd that a listing priced at $8,888,888 has such low-quality photos?

I mean really? That’s the best shot you could get of the view?

  1. What can anyone say about a penthouse suite “designed for royalty” in Las Vegas? Just imagine the sort of “royalty” who would want to hang out in Las Vegas, and surely the blurry details will sharpen right up, eh? :D

  2. Only the very best Rococo Schlock for interested buyers! Once again… dammit… I am beyond bewildered how those with So.Much.Money can have so very little (if any) taste. Shouldn’t one have to pass some kind of style test before being allowed to have so much money? Or at least before being allowed to spend it on decor without severe oversight by trained professionals who are not on your payroll? Perhaps blurry pictures are actually a blessing in this case.

The worst of this place (I think) is the bathroom, which is utterly vomit-inducing. Luckily, the appropriate fixtures are there to accommodate the results. But look! There’s also a… microwave?

I do find one piece of furniture attractive to some degree, the giant display cabinet in Pic 8. But even then, it seems to be missing a substantial base to keep it from being visually top-heavy. But Lord knows anyone who can’t see the hideous Rococo forest for the Schlocky trees in this place won’t be bothered by such fine points.

For a less ornate, yet no more appealing site, check out the photos here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/swan-hotel/. At least it has the excuse of being part of a world that’s supposed to be make-believe.
