@Emerald63: Sorry, probably been gone too long. I meant "Other Real Estate Owned," the part of a bank's portfolio where foreclosed properties were (are?) shown on their books. Back when that used to be a very rare, calamitous event and no bank would need anyone assigned to that full-time. ;)

This is what a multidimensional transfer station accident looks like. Note the horrible, wandering signal "static" effect permanently rendered into some of the surfaces; that can actually be a lot worse than some of the subtle non-Euclidean distortions. You did not want to be there when that happened - almost as much as you did not want to be who or what was transiting through. I would strongly advise not attempting to clean the pool; just fill it in and treat the area respectfully. The good news is that this site will not function again, inadvertently or otherwise.

@Emerald63: I was thinking 1980's too, inspired by Battlestar Galactica. So we have all these design-y-ish custom-made elements... with off-the-shelf bottom-dollar ceiling fans. I wouldn't buy without spending more than the house is up for for renovations.

I mentioned that some parts in the last post were “trying too hard.” This entire listing, on the other hand, has a fatal case of the same disease. It’s like the moderne house version of Elizabethan fashion. See what I mean? http://annaghmakeup.blogspot.com/2013/10/elizabethan-make-up-research-images.html There are so many little bits and bobs, so many articulated corners, one cannot see the forest for the trees. If you have to try (let alone try too hard), you simply aren’t cool and you never will be.

Marty, I couldn’t figure out those stairs either, not until all the way to Pic 17! And the multi-colored rip off of a Hollywood Theater chain lobby? Pretty sure it’s the snack stand for the game room. You can see it just beyond the room itself in Pic 6. It even has the glass front candy counters. Pity about the pool. I don’t envy whoever has to clean it, though it might be pretty nice when it’s been resuscitated.

I was surprised to see this place was built in 1996. I could’ve sworn it was 1980s new-money schlock. Whatever. When the listing says “AS IS” in all caps… Run Away, Run Away, Run Away
