Also, the name of Mather is a bit disconcerting to “my sort,” given the doings of one said Cotton Mather back in the day. At least I was able to find out what all the strange oblong areas in the area visible on the satellite view are – they’re cranberry bogs. (Although it’s another creepy connection to Massachusetts and infamous towns which-shall-not-be-named.) At least there’s some sort of going industry in the region. Well, that and the lumber industry. Looks like these folks really like their wood siding products, eh?

OK. That’s actually sorta cool, when you think about it. Maybe it follows the sign. Ah ha, that must be it. Just buying the structure might find you staring at a patch of grass; what you got to buy is the sign. Nice to know there are still honest folk out there.

And yes indeed, what a wonderful shelter for outdoor enthusiasts! Just set the sign somewhere flat and favorable and be off in pursuit of your sport – by nightfall your shelter will have joined you, unobserved. Woot! :D

After finding Mather on Highway 173 (junction 173 and Sprague Mather Rd), look for Main St. and follow it southeast of 173; it’s just past Dano Rd on the northeast side of Main, and you’ll recognize the white propane tank and tent skeleton by the side of the building.
