Yikes. I've just looked at the photos for this one again & there is so much more weirdness than I realized the first time. I didn't even notice the flames in the pool the first time. How did I not notice flames in the swimming pool‽ And photo #12 -- there's a teddy bear on a pedestal and, over on the right hand side of the photo, it looks like there's a brass bucket near the outlet. But it also seems to be transparent and 2-dimensional. Is it amber glass, perhaps?

The whole place seems to be designed more for large, lavish parties than day-to-day living, too.

@Frodo: "Swimmer flambe" - LOL! Yeah, I like some of the water area, too, but not all. For instance, I wouldn't say no to an epic waterfall in my backyard, a la Pic 24.

As for the "Indian" furniture, it's not the furniture itself, but rather the sort of damask looking upholstery, which reminds me of Indian fabrics, colors, and patterns because it seems to have the iridescent quality of looking either greenish or pinkish depending on your viewing angle.

@Emerald63: That's not like any Indian furniture I've seen. Maybe from some other part of India...

This house is full of all kinds of oddness.

Some of it is really hard to comment on, like the mix and match colors vacuumed fuzzy upholstery sectional in the mirrored antique slot machine room (photo 17). Sit here and look at mu slot machines. Just don't touch them, and make sure you vacuum the upholstery when you leave so it looks pristine.

Then there's the throne in the wine cellar decorated otherwise with old military hats and fake ivy.

How about that dusty-looking tiki roof over the bar in the curved hall.

Then there's the hidden don't-watch-me-play volleyball or badminton court.

I do have to say that the water area, while odd, is kind of cool, even with the potential for swimmer flambe. I guess with all it's other environmental rules and water shortages California just didn't consider this contingency.

There's something about the top photo that says "Salt Lake City." Except for the knights in shining armor; don't recall hearing there were a whole lot of Mormons in Camelot. Or potted palms. But everything else... :-)

If I bought this place I'd throw myself a welcome party and hire a band to play "Vibrato in the Grotto."
