BUT, looking at a listing found online there was a “ sale pending “ in November of last year. Had they already intended to purchase it back then ? Certainly raises an eyebrow.

@Frodo: With more than 18K sq ft I'm thinking there's definitely more than one maid. Likely an entire staff so someone's available 24/7.

Well, this place is gorgeous and utterly over-the-top. I love the gardens but they make me sneeze just to look at them. I must say, though, there are so many distractions in this house, I’d lose the money it takes to maintain it because I’d never get anything done.

I’m thinking, though: with nearly twice as many bathrooms as bedrooms, I’m picturing the overworked maid. “Trudy, we have a party scheduled for a couple hundred. Make sure we have enough toilet paper and hand towels out, would you? And we’ll need it all cleaned first thing in the morning before the board from Consolidated arrives for the meeting at 9am.”

Ah, yes, forgot the stripper pole. Apparently, they’re a thing now for the exercise minded. I guess it really tones the muscles trying to keep oneself elevated off the floor just by holding onto it. The one and only not-so-classy thing about this house.

It’s like someone plunked down a Tuscan villa in Primoville, CA. Gorgeous place. It’s even one of the very few times I’ve been able to tolerate full-bore, French Provincial, curly-qued to death furniture (see Pic 21). That’s how well the decor is done.

Alas, the stunning grounds may soon have to go away, considering the water restrictions recently imposed in the Golden State. I have no doubt the wealthy will find some work-around while the Average Joe suffers the brunt of it, but still… at some point there may be no water to be had, regardless of money attempting to not just talk, but to scream. A pity, as it’s all just so… perfect.
