Aside from the odd swan obsession, does it strike anyone else as a bit odd that a listing priced at $8,888,888 has such low-quality photos?

I mean really? That’s the best shot you could get of the view?

Not the strangest, most offensive art we’ve seen in a home for sale, but also not the kind of thing I would choose to display prominently in a house I was trying to sell. I think this second photo has another dirty art piece, but it could just be my mind that’s dirty in this case. Judge for yourself:

Wayne Newton’s house, it turns out. From an October Forbes article:

Known as ‘Casa de Shenandoah’, 6629 S. Pecos Road hit the market in September for a whopping $70 million, but has seen its asking price slashed by more than 30 percent in recent days. Wayne Newton’s former 36-acre Xanadu now lists for just $48 million.

The famed performer and his family resided at the ranch from the 1960’s up until 2010, when, amid bankruptcy, Newton sold the property to a development company for $19.5 million. Newton retained a 20 percent stake in the company, CSD LLC, which aspired to convert the majority of the outlandish property into a theme park. However, after a combination of lawsuits, money disputes and poor planning, the development company went belly up and the home was put up for sale.

Despite its fate, the home remains the stuff of real estate legends and an embodiment of one of Las Vegas’ greatest showman.

Do the bleachers overlooking the pool strike anyone else as… odd? I mean, not like there aren’t plenty of other odd things about this $48 million listing…

Not only could the listing agent not be bothered to sweep up the dead roaches, but they took a photograph that appears to be primarily intended to feature the dead roaches. Wow.

Really looks like a nice place.

I also like how the listing shows it as “Undisclosed Address,” but then they include a photo that shows the address. The specific number at the beginning is a little hard to read though…

Somebody really likes angled shapes. And their fancy car.

You can’t quite see it from this angle, but the mirror in the bedroom is a hexagon.

Octogon light above the kitchen island. Angled counters, plus the whole room is angled.

They’re also really proud of the pool that’s built right into the middle of the living room. Seems like nearly half the photos are of that pool.

Bathtub, sink, and window: all hexagons.

Great find by a reader. If this home looks a bit… odd to you, that would be because it sits in a man-made cave 26 feet underground. Currently on the market for $1.6 million. The listing photos are garbage though, so the photos in this post come from a great piece over at Vegas Inc.

I love the “life-like” murals painted on the walls.

Gotta love the decor inside, too. No, I mean you seriously gotta love it because the whole world has been decimated and you’re literally never going to be able to replace it.

Wow. That is quite the bedroom. Painted walls and painted ceiling. I’m not sure what I’m looking at in the center of the picture, though. Is that a mirror on a dresser in a windowed alcove?
