This one sold for $2.8 million last month, but I definitely couldn’t resist posting it anyway. Here’s the listing description:

Here’s an interesting and unique property currently on the market in Kirkland, WA (Seattle area). No idea what the point of this design was, other than just to be different.

The lot looks pretty lush, but the home has apparently been somewhat neglected.

Inside we’ve got lots of exposed wood and big windows. It’s certainly a unique look.

Apparently the designer of this house was allergic to right angles.

I love this directly overhead view. Every listing should include one of these.

The only thing left inside the home is a single lonely piano.

Isn’t there usually supposed to be a bit of headroom between the top of the doors and the ceiling?

This isn’t a basement we’re looking at. It’s the ground floor.

It seems pretty obvious that there used to be a large garage door taking up most of the front of this “house.” I suspect that maybe the building was originally just someone’s detached garage, and they decided to “finish” it and sell it as a standalone home. Good luck with that.

Despite the apparent state of disrepair, this multi-dome home is only a little over ten years old.

Looks like a dream that was just never quite realized.

This spaceship home in the middle of a 28 acre forest looks like something from the mid-century, but it was apparently built just 16 years ago.

I am definitely digging it.

I don’t even care that the ceilings are a bit low near the outside walls. I am ready for spaceship living.

According to the Zillow Blog, this home has “a maze of ramps” instead of stairs inside.

So much going on here. Funny that the listing agent (quoted in the above-linked piece on Zillow) describes it as “a very peaceful house.” With this many different styles I feel uneasy just looking through the photos…

Where do you even find someone to build you a crazy custom house like this?

Does the phone book have a section for “fantasy architects”?

Haha just kidding as if anyone uses a phone book anymore.

Seriously why do they even make phone books still? I wonder if you could grind up unused phone books and mix them with water and a bit of glue to make a type of sculpting clay, then use that clay to build a house like this.

Those large white overhangs certainly make for an interesting effect inside.

You can tell they are serious because of the all-caps and the exclamation point.

Here’s another one that’s less “looney” and more “lavish.”

Love the distinctive, unique shape of this home, as well as the finishes like the nice wood deck.

Is that basement just carved out of the rock below the house? Crazy.

Nice round second-story balcony, too.

Bonus: if kids get bored with the main house, they’ve got “Fort Apache” out back, complete with its own log wall.

Because why wouldn’t you want to spend $9.2 million to live in a home that looks like some kind of factory from a futuristic movie, or maybe a mega-church’s building?

The architecture is definitely unique, but the interiors are a bit too sterile for my tastes.

Interesting decor in what I’m assuming is the kid’s bedroom.

I do like the simplicity of the pool though. Just a clean blue rectangle on a trimmed lawn, with a great view. That’s my kind of relaxation.

I wonder how often these funky domes need to be painted to remain that bright, considering their location in the middle of nowhere, Arizona.

I would think the sun would be pretty harsh on such a vibrant paint job.

I like how they continued the curved aesthetic even throughout the interior of the house pods. That’s some kitchen.

But really, glass blocks was the best you could come up with for the bathroom? That’s a little sad.

Somebody really likes angled shapes. And their fancy car.

You can’t quite see it from this angle, but the mirror in the bedroom is a hexagon.

Octogon light above the kitchen island. Angled counters, plus the whole room is angled.

They’re also really proud of the pool that’s built right into the middle of the living room. Seems like nearly half the photos are of that pool.

Bathtub, sink, and window: all hexagons.

Angled homes are the future, man.

Whoa.

This place is seriously incredible.
