No Man Is An Island, But This Home Is

East Sister Rock Island, Marathon, FL 33050

Over on the island’s rental website you can catch a bunch of videos of the location and the home.

The photos on this post are from the rental site, because the photos on the for sale listing are bland in comparison.

Given this island’s location in the Florida Keys, you’ll have a great view from the deck of the inevitable approaching hurricane.

Inside is rather bland…

But who are we kidding, the inside is not the attraction here.

You might think that the best way to get to this home would be by boat. You would be wrong, apparently.

Just $9.9 million and it’s yours.

Cool, Marty, you found some interior pics. I’d seen the sale listing a while back and was surprised that 14 of 19 photos are definitely aerial, with only 1 definitely not an aerial. All Hail the drone camera, I guess.

The rental site has superior information as well, although it took me a while to calm down after seeing this:
“To the south lies the Gulf where the deep sea angler can battle sailfish, dolphin, marlin and wahoo…”
I even tracked down the legislation I thought these folks hadn’t heard of, the Marine Mammal Protection Act of 1972 (amendments of 1994) (MMPA). http://www.dolphin-institute.org/resource_guide/conservation.htm. Fishing for, or even harassing, dolphins is a big legal no-no.

And then I remembered… there’s also a fish called the dolphinfish, or, aka the mahi-mahi. D’OH!!! Rental people – if there’s another word for a fish that can avoid confusion, outrage, and, you know… other reasons people might want to avoid using your service… use it!

As for interiors, I recommend the multiple room by room videos at the bottom of the rental page. The bedrooms have been upgraded nicely. Still a bit confusing on why the living room looks kinda cheesy in the still photo but, apparently, the same furnishings look much classier in the video.

What a way to go! Yikes! On one hand it is scary as hell and on the other it is luxurious. Now, which one do I choose.
Does it come with its own helicopter? Good question, right? That price is a little out of my neighborhood. It could be fun though. Can you get deliveries, like for pizza? These are all pertinent questions.
